Ruins // MFA ILP Thesis ‘18

Ruins began as collection of exploratory drawings that later took form as a wordless non-traditional narrative about color and place. Inspired by the magic of architecture that is old and abandoned, this book takes the reader on an adventure through a strange world populated by enormous creatures. Giant hands and snakes move through the remains of abandoned structures yet provide few clues to the civilization that may have been there before. Part picture book, part artists’ zine, Ruins asks the reader to follow a path into the heart of an unfamiliar landscape of color and emotion, on a quest that centers environment as a main character.
